Alto Tajamar 2015, Viña Maipo’s icon red blend, scored excellent 96 points and was ranked among the 20 best-rated wines out of more than 1,200 bottles tasted by the US critic James Suckling for his latest Report on Chilean wines.
“A very intense nose of cassis, dark plums, mulberries, baking spices, dried blackberries, dark cherries, dark chocolate and vanilla. Generous yet soft on the palate, the structured tannins providing form to the overt fruit, which the acidity cuts through and refreshes. Long and chewy on the finish. Syrah blend. Drink in 2021,” James Suckling describes it in his report.
As of 2009, winemaker Max Weinlaub and his team have worked to give life to Alto Tajamar, a Syrah-based blend that aims to reflect the finest expression that the Quinta de Maipo vineyard is capable of delivering.
Its character, expression and elegance have earned this wine a consistent track record of high acclaims by the international specialized critics, always ranking among the wines scored with 94+ points.
